About Me

Nathaniel Holben (A.K.A. Bronze Holbein) is a metal manipulator from Martinez, CA.

Nate has been summoning sculptures from the void since 2009, when he made his first steel sculpture at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo. After discovering his love for sculpture and welding, he began pursuing both extensively and has been up-cycling scrap metal into art ever since. After graduating in 2013 he began his career as a welder-fabricator.

In 2017, Nate returned to the Bay Area and began working with Artworks Foundry in Berkeley, where he assisted in the production of numerous bronze sculptures and monuments, learning valuable lessons about public art and honing his skills as a sculptor in the process. He left the foundry in 2021 and now works as a welder-fabricator in Richmond, where he uses leftover materials from welding jobs to produce his unique form of metal art.
